Desmond Ridder Evaluated For Concussion, Taylor Heinicke Enters

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder (head) exited Week 8 versus the Tennessee Titans and is being evaluated for a concussion. Taylor Heinicke will take over as the Falcons' signal-caller for the time being. Prior to his departure, Ridder totaled 71 passing yards, 26 rushing yards, and zero touchdowns in the first half while taking five sacks and losing a fumble. It has been a rough year for the Cincinnati product who now has seven turnovers (including four lost fumbles) over his last two-and-a-half games. Atlanta adequately prepared itself for an injury or benching at the quarterback position by signing Heinicke last offseason. The ex-Commanders quarterback logged 34 touchdowns and 21 interceptions over 25 games between 2021 and 2022.
