Desmond Ridder A Solid QB2 Option Against Carolina
one year ago

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder only played four games as a rookie, averaging 9.7 fantasy points per game. However, the former Cincinnati Bearcat did a good job protecting the ball. He didn't have an interception on 115 pass attempts last season. Now Ridder enters his second NFL season as the clear-cut starter. Yet, the pressure is on the second-year quarterback. The Falcons could move on from the former Bearcat this offseason. However, Ridder has an appealing Week 1 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Last year, the Panthers surrendered 18.4 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, the ninth-most in the NFL. While Ridder didn't face Carolina as a rookie, the second-year quarterback is a solid QB2 option in Week 1.
