Derek Carr Hopeful He Can Return After Week 11 Bye

New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr (concussion, shoulder) was injured in the Week 10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday and was quickly ruled out. It was his second right-shoulder injury of the year, but with the team on bye next week, Carr is hopeful that he will be able to return in Week 12 to face the Atlanta Falcons on Nov. 26. If Carr is unable to go in that big divisional clash after the bye, Jameis Winston would get the start under center. Winston made things interesting and got the Saints back into the game after replacing Carr, but he also turned the ball over several times in vintage Winston fashion. Head coach Dennis Allen made it clear Sunday that when Carr is healthy, he's still New Orleans' starting QB.
