Derek Carr Expected To Play Versus Patriots
one year ago

New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr (shoulder) is expected to suit up in Week 5 despite being listed as questionable. Furthermore, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport notes that the veteran signal-caller "is in a better place health-wise than last week." Rapoport is referring to a disappointing Week 4 in which Carr went 23-for-37 with 127 yards, zero touchdowns, and one fumble lost. Carr was initially expected to be inactive for that game, but the Saints made a last-minute decision to have him play. Heading into Week 5, he is far more healthy and prepared, having participated in some capacity during every practice this past week. Carr and the Saints take on a Patriots defense that just lost its two biggest stars, Matthew Judon and Christian Gonzalez. Carr is an appealing option in two-quarterback fantasy leagues while Chris Olave and Alvin Kamara remain must-starts in all formats.
