David Montgomery Remains Must-Start Against Former Team
12 months ago

Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery rushed 12 times for 116 yards and a touchdown in his return from a rib injury last week. Although he was out-touched by rookie Jahmyr Gibbs, he found a way to pay off in fantasy football by averaging 9.7 yards per carry and finding the end zone. The former Chicago Bear will face his former team this week, in a matchup with the 12th-worst defense in stopping fantasy running backs. While Gibbs has been electric, this backfield will likely be close to an even split moving forward. In one of the best offenses in the NFL headlined by an elite offensive line, both ball carriers can post RB1 weeks consistently. Start Montgomery with confidence.
