David Montgomery Practices In Full Thursday
12 months ago

Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery (foot) looks well on his way to playing this Sunday against the New Orleans Saints after putting in a full practice session on Thursday. Montgomery was limited on Wednesday with a foot issue. Rookie first-rounder Jahmyr Gibbs has earned a bigger share of the backfield workload going forward, but Montgomery still remains a big part of this offense. Since returning from a three-game absence due to a rib injury, Monty has found the end zone in each of the last three games and has a total of 39 rushing attempts for 263 yards (6.74 yards per carry), adding two catches for 22 yards. He's less useful in PPR formats and should be considered a touchdown-dependent RB2. Montgomery has scored on the ground in all but one of his eight games in 2023.
