Dave Canales To Speak With Panthers For Second Time

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dave Canales will interview for a second time with the Carolina Panthers for their head-coaching job, according to sources. Canales has been praised for his work with quarterback Baker Mayfield throughout the 2023 season. The 42-year-old called plays for the first time in his career with the Buccaneers this year and helped the team win its third straight division title in the NFC South. Tampa beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the wild-card round of the playoffs before losing to the Detroit Lions in the Divisional Round this past weekend. The Bucs finished 20th in points scored and 23rd in total yards on the season. Before coming to Tampa, Canales was a long-time assistant with the Seattle Seahawks under head coach Pete Carroll.
