Darnell Mooney Has Opportunity In Week 5
one year ago

Chicago Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney caught all four of his targets for 51 yards in the Week 4 loss to the Denver Broncos with Chase Claypool being a healthy scratch. He played 75 percent of the offensive snaps and was the clearcut No. 2 wideout behind DJ Moore, but the overall production was still somewhat of a disappointment with Claypool out in a game where the Bears offense actually was productive for the first time in 2023. Mooney is facing what has been a porous Washington Commanders defense so far this year on Thursday night in Week 5. The Commanders have allowed the sixth-most half-PPR points per game (36.7) to the receiver position. It's a good matchup, but Mooney is going to need more targets to justify a flex play in fantasy lineups.
