Commanders Interview Eric Bieniemy For Head Coaching Job
10 months ago

The Washington Commanders interviewed offensive coordinator and assistant head coach Eric Bieniemy for their vacant head coaching job last week, according to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports. She notes that the interview was "detailed and checked all of the boxes." The Commanders are in the depths of an important search for their next head coach after firing Ron Rivera at the end of the 2023 season. Bieniemy has long been viewed as an intelligent offensive mind and future head coach, and his move from Kansas City to Washington last offseason suggested that he would be a top candidate to replace Rivera. Indeed, the hiring process is now in full swing, but the Commanders are considering other candidates, too. Raheem Morris, Ben Johnson, Mike Macdonald, and Dan Quinn have all interviewed for the position and are believed to be in the mix.
