Commanders Hire Bob Myers, Rick Spielman

In a sweeping overhaul, Washington Commanders owner Josh Harris has hired two prominent executives in former Golden State Warriors general manager Bob Myers and former Minnesota Vikings GM Rick Spielman. The two new executives were hired to assist Harris' group in their searches for a new head of football operations and a new head coach after the team fired Ron Rivera on Monday. The Commanders finished 4-13 in 2023 and in last place in the NFC East and went 26-40-1 in Rivera's four seasons at the helm in D.C. Harris said the search for new leadership would be rapid, and they have already put out multiple requests to interview candidates. The allure of the team's job openings will be buoyed by having the second overall pick in a quarterback-rich 2024 draft and projected salary cap space that is among the most in the NFL.
