Colts Sign Trey Sermon To The Practice Squad
one year ago

The Indianapolis Colts signed free-agent running back Trey Sermon to their practice squad on Tuesday and waived offensive tackle Ryan Hayes in a corresponding move. Sermon injured his knee in training camp while with the Philadelphia Eagles and was subsequently waived from Injured Reserve. He's likely past his injury, but only time will tell if the Colts will give him a chance on the active roster with Jonathan Taylor (ankle) still on the Physically Unable to Perform list and rookie Evan Hull (knee) on Injured Reserve. The former third-round pick in 2021 made just two appearances with Philly last year and had two carries for 19 yards. For now, he'll just be serving as RB depth in Indy behind Zack Moss, Deon Jackson and Jake Funk.
