Christian McCaffrey Misses Practice, Listed As Day-To-Day

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters on Thursday that running back Christian McCaffrey (oblique, ribs) had an "encouraging" MRI exam and that he considers CMC to be day-to-day heading into Monday night's game against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7 despite not practicing on Thursday. McCaffrey rarely practices on the first day of the week anyway, so Friday will be a much more important day in terms of whether he'll be able to play on Monday. Even if the 27-year-old doesn't play in Week 7, the encouraging news is that his injury isn't a long-term one. CMC is a must-start in all fantasy lineups when he's active. If he cannot play on Monday, Jordan Mason and Elijah Mitchell (knee) would split backfield duties against Minnesota.
