Christian McCaffrey Gashes Rams Defense In Los Angeles
one year ago

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey had another productive day in Sunday's 30-23 win against the Rams in Los Angeles. McCaffrey had 20 carries for 116 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown. He also caught all three of his targets for 19 yards receiving. Similar to Week 1, a large portion of his production came on one long run. This week McCaffrey ripped off a 51-yard scamper down the sideline to close the first quarter before being forced out of bounds. It's a credit to the scrappy Rams defense that they were able to limit the damage thereafter and avoid one of McCaffrey's patented monster games. In terms of usage, CMC had San Francisco's running back touches on absolute lock in this one, as no other back had even a single carry or target. McCaffrey will look to continue justifying his early first-round ADP on Thursday night when the 49ers host a vulnerable New York Giants defense in San Francisco's home opener.
