Chiefs Rule Out Joe Thuney For Sunday's Game
10 months ago

The Kansas City Chiefs have officially ruled out All-Pro offensive guard Joe Thuney (pectoral) for the AFC Championship tilt on Sunday versus the Ravens in Baltimore. This was the likely outcome after Thuney was injured in the Divisional Round win over the Buffalo Bills last Sunday. It's unclear if Thuney would be ready in a couple weeks if the Chiefs advance to another Super Bowl, but the 31-year-old's absence is very notable for this weekend's big game against a strong Ravens defensive line that led the NFL in sacks in 2023. It's a downgrade for the entire Chiefs' offense, most notably for quarterback Patrick Mahomes and running back Isiah Pacheco (ankle, toe). With Thuney out, expect Nick Allegretti to start at left guard for the Chiefs on Sunday.
