Chiefs Defense Presents Solid Value In Frigid Conditions
10 months ago

The Kansas City Chiefs defense was quite the revelation this season. Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo's group sits second in football in sacks (57) and points per game allowed (17.3) in 2023, also giving up the third-fewest yards per attempt (6.0). While most of the DFS rostership is likely headed toward the Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys defenses for wild-card weekend, K.C.'s $2,900 DraftKings price may not accurately reflect the context of Saturday's clash, with Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa notoriously struggling in cold-weather games. In four NFL games with a temperature under 45 degrees, Tagovailoa holds a miserable 55.5% completion rate, 4:5 TD:INT, and 71.8 passer rating. DFS players needing a bit of salary relief shouldn't be afraid to turn to the Chiefs D despite the imposing matchup on paper against Miami, considering the expected conditions. They also make for a compelling correlation stack with running back Isiah Pacheco.
