Cardinals Sign Damien Williams To Practice Squad

The Arizona Cardinals signed former Kansas City Chiefs running back Damien Williams to their practice squad on Thursday. The Cardinals are looking for some more running back depth with Keaontay Ingram currently dealing with a neck injury. Ingram was inactive for the Week 4 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, so rookie Emari Demercado was forced to serve as James Conner's backup. Williams played in only six games with the Atlanta Falcons in 2022 and had just two carries for two yards. His best season came in 2019 with the Chiefs when he had a career-high 111 rushing attempts for 498 yards and five touchdowns. The 31-year-old is a long shot to become fantasy relevant in the desert.
