Cardinals Release Tony Jones Jr.
one year ago

The Arizona Cardinals released running back Tony Jones Jr. on Wednesday. The Cardinals picked up Jones off waivers from the New Orleans Saints, but he was with the team for less than a week and will now look for another team to join. James Conner (knee) is on Injured Reserve and must miss at least three more games. Keaontay Ingram led the Cardinals' backfield in the Week 6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, with undrafted rookie Emari Demercado and Damien Williams also pitching in. The 25-year-old Tony will likely latch on with another team's practice squad as RB depth. In four games with the Saints this year, Jones had 21 carries for 70 yards and two touchdowns while catching four passes for 21 yards.
