Cardinals Hoping To Open James Conner's Practice Window
one year ago

The Arizona Cardinals are hoping to open the 21-day practice window for running back James Conner (knee) this week. Conner is on Injured Reserve and has missed the last four games, but he will be eligible to return in Week 10 against the Atlanta Falcons. If he returns to practice and looks good this week, he could be officially activated from IR later this week/weekend and play on Sunday against the Falcons. Head coach Jonathan Gannon said last week that Conner is "ready to go" and "excited to get back," so it sounds like he's trending in the right direction to play this weekend. Rookie Emari Demercado (toe) was inactive for the Week 9 shutout loss to the Cleveland Browns, leaving Keaontay Ingram as Arizona's lead back. Conner could be eased in if he plays in Week 10, but when healthy, the 28-year-old will return to bell-cow duties for the Cards.
