Cam Akers Won't Be Active In Week 2

Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers will not be active for the Week 2 game against the division-rival San Francisco 49ers, according to a source. FOX Sports' Jay Glazer also reported that coaches believe Akers is on the trade block and could be traded. Akers started for the Rams in their surprising Week 1 win over the Seattle Seahawks but had a measly 29 yards on 22 carries. There were similar issues between the 24-year-old and the Rams in 2022, but they hung onto him and he finished strong with three straight 100-yard rushing performance. If Kyren Williams is somehow still available in your league, he's a priority pickup, as he will now take over lead-back duties in LA. Ronnie Rivers and rookie Zach Evans should also step into bigger roles moving forward.
