Cam Akers - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football
one year ago

Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers struggled in his first game of the season, as he put up just 29 rushing yards on 22 carries. While the fourth-year back out of Florida St. did get into the end zone, it was evident that the team leaned into using second-year RB Kyren Williams more. This is similar to what happened in 2022, where Akers started the season very slowly, but he did end on a high note and as the clear starter. However, Akers played just 35% of the offensive snaps in Week 1, while Williams played the other 65%, which should scare fantasy managers. Akers has a tough matchup against a San Fransisco 49ers defense that contained the Steelers offense to 41 rushing yards in Week 2. Considering his low snap count and problematic matchup against San Francisco, Akers is mainly a flex play in Week 2.
