Cam Akers Splits Backfield Workload In Week 1
one year ago

Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers ran the ball 22 times for 29 yards and one touchdown in the team's Week 1 upset victory over the Seattle Seahawks. Backup Kyren Williams was far more efficient running the football on Sunday with 15 carries for 52 yards and two touchdowns. The backfield seems like more of an even split than originally forecasted and could become a headache for fantasy managers. Akers typically offers very little in the passing game (zero catches in Week 1). If Williams continues to take carries near the goal line, Akers' fantasy value will plummet. Neither back should be trusted against the San Francisco 49ers' defense in Week 2.
