Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud (concussion) is officially doubtful to play against the Tennessee Titans after missing all three practices this week. While the team is technically leaving the door open for him to clear protocol and suit up, they have acknowledged that such an outcome is unlikely. Therefore, Davis Mills figures to draw the start in his absence, though head coach Demeco Ryans wouldn't officially name a starter. Case Keenum serves as Mills' main competition for the job. Regardless of whether Mills or Keenum starts, the downgrade at quarterback is bad news for Houston playmakers, including Dalton Schultz (hamstring) and Noah Brown (knee).
