Buccaneers Looking At Jerrod Johnson, Tanner Engstrand
10 months ago

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers held an in-person interview with Houston Texans quarterbacks coach Jerrod Johnson for their offensive-coordinator position on Tuesday and will also interview Detroit Lions passing-game coordinator Tanner Engstrand for the same position, according to a source. Engstrand interviewed last week with the New England Patriots for their offensive-coordinator position. Johnson is receiving plenty of interest for an offensive-coordinator job this offseason following his excellent work with rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud, who is fully expected to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. Engstrand joined Detroit's staff in 2020 after working in the XFL as offensive coordinator for the DC Defenders. If Ben Johnson had taken a head-coaching position, Engstrand would have been the likely replacement for Lions as offensive coordinator in 2024.
