Broncos Defense Holds Raiders To 17 Points, Does Little Else
one year ago

The Denver Broncos defense was able to hold the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders to only 17 points in their Week 1 meeting on Sunday, but it wasn't enough to get the team a win to open the year, and they also did very little else to help fantasy managers. Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo put up an even 200 yards passing against them with two touchdown passes and an interception from Kareem Jackson on a pass that was tipped at the goal line. Denver forced Jimmy G to fumble as well, but they weren't able to recover it. Perhaps most disappointing from the Broncos D was that they didn't record a single sack and only had three QB hits and one tackle for loss. Vance Joseph's unit still has fantasy upside and will look to do better in Week 2 against the Washington Commanders and inexperienced quarterback Sam Howell at home. On a positive note, the Broncos held last year's rushing leader Josh Jacobs to 48 ground yards and 2.5 yards per carry on his 19 rushing attempts.
