Brock Purdy Throws Two Touchdowns In Opener
one year ago

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy led his team to a Week 1 victory at the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Purdy completed 19-of-29 passes for 220 yards and two touchdowns. He also added three carries for 20 yards but lost a fumble. Both of his touchdowns were thrown to wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, one of which was a wide-open gimme after cornerback Patrick Peterson slipped. The other was a nicely placed ball for which Aiyuk out-maneuvered Peterson along the sideline. With this productive outing, Purdy may be building a case for rosterability in one-quarterback leagues. Next up for Purdy is a Week 2 matchup at the Los Angeles Rams, whose defense looked surprisingly good against Seattle's passing attack this week.
