Brian Thomas Jr. Flashes Big-Play Ability In First NFL Game
3 months ago

Jacksonville Jaguars rookie first-round wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. only caught one pass in a 26-13 win over the Chiefs in the preseason opener on Saturday, but the first-round pick out of LSU made it count with a 41-yard bomb. BTJ caught the pass on a streak down the sideline from C.J. Beathard. He didn't catch a pass from quarterback Trevor Lawrence, but he was on the field in two- and three-WR sets, which should be intriguing for fantasy managers. On Yahoo, he is going just after Lawrence in the 11th round, which puts him as the WR56. In a balanced receiving corps, Thomas has the talent and potential opportunity to be the WR1 for the Jaguars. He could also just as easily be the fourth receiving option, given that he's an unproven rookie, but at WR56, the upside at that cost should be well worth it. BTJ has potential to be an elite draft stash on benches in redraft formats.
