Former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley is scheduled to interview with the Los Angeles Rams on Wednesday for their defensive-coordinator job that was formerly held by Raheem Morris, according to sources. Despite his failures with the Chargers, Staley is a top defensive-coordinator candidate around the league and is generating considerable interest. Before he was a head coach, Staley served as the Rams' defensive coordinator. The Rams had the league's top-ranked defense under Staley in 2020, his only year as their defensive coordinator. Staley wouldn't have anywhere near the same level of talent to coach if he returns as the Rams' defensive coordinator in 2024, though. Under Morris in 2023, the Rams defense allowed 22.2 points per game, 337.9 total yards per game, 231.1 passing yards per game and 106.8 rushing yards per game.
