Brandon Staley Interviewing With Packers For Defensive-Coordinator Job

Former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley is interviewing for the Green Bay Packers' vacant defensive-coordinator job on Friday, according to sources. The Packers fired former defensive coordinator Joe Barry earlier this week despite the team advancing to the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Staley was fired by the Chargers late in the 2023 regular season after going 24-24 in two-plus seasons in LA. In Staley's time at the helm, the Chargers' defense was not particularly good, although he did coordinator a strong unit in 2020 with the Los Angeles Rams. With several other defensive-coordinator positions still open around the league, there's a good chance Staley could resurface in 2024 while running a defense.
