Brandon Aiyuk Fails To Capitalize On Large Target Share
one year ago

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk had a serviceable fantasy day but left some meat on the bone in Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Browns in Cleveland. He was targeted a team-leading 10 times for just four catches and 76 yards receiving. While Aiyuk managers have to be happy with the volume, a more efficient Purdy-Aiyuk connection could have made for a week-winning performance. Cleveland showed why it was a top-ranked pass defense coming into the game by forcing Purdy to throw under duress, causing some just-overthrown balls that could have made Aiyuk's final stat line more exciting. There's no reason to panic, though, as a mediocre offensive output was always a distinct possibility coming into the game due to the tough matchup. Look for Aiyuk to rebound next Monday night when he faces a mediocre Vikings pass defense in Minneapolis.
