Bills Promote Bobby Babich To Defensive Coordinator
10 months ago

The Buffalo Bills have promoted linebackers coach Bobby Babich to be their new defensive coordinator on Tuesday, according to sources. Babich worked his way up in Buffalo since 2017 and now lands a prime gig for head coach Sean McDermott. He will inherit a defense that was pretty solid in 2023, considering how banged up their defense was. The Bills defense was the league's ninth-best unit in 2023, according to Pro Football Focus. Babich had a crucial role in developing linebackers Matt Milano, Terrel Bernard and Tyrel Dodson the last two years as the linebackers coach. He started out as an assistant defensive backs coach in 2017, and the team's secondary was one of the top position groups in the league in his two years working with the defensive backs. With better health in 2024, the Bills D could be even better under Babich's supervision.
