Bills Defense Doesn’t Capitalize On Backup QB In Loss
2 years ago

The Buffalo Bills defense registered three sacks and an interception while permitting 22 points in Monday's 22-16 defeat to the New York Jets. Leonard Floyd and Jordan Phillips submitted first-quarter sacks. The Bills' front seven then lost Breece Hall for an 83-yard scamper before that drive sputtered for a chip-shot field goal after Hall run out of gas late. Matt Milano next corralled an interception on an errant throw by second-stringer Zach Wilson later in the period. Buffalo closed in once more on Wilson for a fourth-quarter sack, but Garrett Wilson delivered an early catch of the year candidate on a fade for a late game-tying score. Sean McDermott's guys were dealt a suddenly favorable hand after Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) departed following just three offensive plays, but they hardly took advantage in fantasy circles. Buffalo's D should rank as a top-five play in Week 2's rebound spot for their home opener versus Jimmy Garoppolo and the Las Vegas Raiders.
