Bill Belichick To Be Fired After The Season?

According to NBC Sports Boston's Tom E. Curran, a decision about New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick's future has already been made by owner Robert Kraft. "When they came out of [the 10-6 loss to the Colts on Nov. 12 in] Germany, conversations I had that week made it very clear that a decision was made," said Curran. "They were going to play out the string, and at the end of the year, there would be a parting of the ways for a variety of reasons." An in-season firing is highly unlikely, but Belichick is under contract for one more year after 2023, so he could be a piece the Patriots could trade. Belichick is apparently beyond the point where he could save his job once the 2023 season ends. Despite all the success Belichick has had in New England, it appears his tenure is about to come to an end, although he'll have plenty of suitors as he looks to become the winningest head coach in NFL history.
