Bill Belichick Confirms Mac Jones Will Start Against Raiders
one year ago

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick confirmed that quarterback Mac Jones will make the start in Week 6 against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. "Yeah, we're not making any changes," Belichick said. After an atrocious year on offense in 2022, Jones and the Patriots haven't been much better in 2023, especially over the last two weeks. They've scored just three points in the last two games against the Cowboys and Saints, so if Jones continues to struggle, it's realistic to think he'll eventually be benched in favor of Bailey Zappe. The 25-year-old is completing a career-low 62.5% of his 168 pass attempts for 1,008 yards, five touchdowns and six interceptions through five weeks. He's turned the ball over five times in the last two games. Jones has an easier matchup against Vegas this weekend, but he's becoming almost unplayable in two-QB leagues.
