Ben Johnson Busy With Head-Coaching Interviews

Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson has head-coaching interviews scheduled with the Atlanta Falcons, Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Chargers this weekend before his team's Divisional Round playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Johnson also interviewed with the Carolina Panthers on Friday and was expected to interview with the Washington Commanders as well. He was Detroit's passing-game coordinator in 2021 before being promoted to offensive coordinator last year. The Lions have ranked in the top five in both total offense and passing offense during Johnson's tenure with the team. He spent his first seven seasons with the Miami Dolphins before landing with the Lions in 2020. Johnson is viewed as a favorite for the Carolina job despite turning the same position down in 2023 to stay in Detroit for another season.
