Bears Working Towards Deal To Hire Shane Waldron
10 months ago

The Chicago Bears are working towards a deal to hire Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Shane Waldron as their new offensive coordinator on Monday, according to sources. The 44-year-old spent the last three seasons running the Seahawks' offense and is now expected to land in Chicago. The Bears have the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft with a big question looming as to whether they will continue with quarterback Justin Fields as their franchise signal-caller or pivot to take USC's Caleb Williams first overall in the draft. Waldron will replace Luke Getsy, who ran Chicago's offense the last two years. Seattle's offense ranked 17th in points per game (21.4) and 21st in yards per game (322.9) in 2023, while the Bears ranked 18th in points per game (21.2) and 20th in yards per game (232.2).
