Bears Unlikely To Move On From Justin Fields?

The Chicago Bears currently hold the No. 1 overall pick for next year, but they are unlikely to move on from quarterback Justin Fields and would need to be blown away by a rookie QB to move on from Fields three years after taking him 11th overall in 2021, according to sources. Fields is back in the starting lineup in Week 11 against the Detroit Lions after missing four games due to a dislocated right thumb, so their evaluation of him will continue the rest of the year. If Chicago is convinced that Fields is their franchise signal-caller after these next seven games, they will use their early picks in 2024 to build around and support him. Before his injury, Fields was playing his best football, and he'll have QB1 upside on a weekly basis given his rushing prowess alone. As long as Fields doesn't completely collapse these final seven games, Chicago is likely to pick up his fifth-year option this offseason.
