Bears Preparing To Start Tyson Bagent In Week 7
one year ago

The Chicago Bears are preparing to start rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent in Week 7 against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. Justin Fields (thumb) is doubtful to play this weekend after dislocating his thumb in the Week 6 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Running back Khalil Herbert (ankle) is on Injured Reserve and rookie Roschon Johnson remains in the concussion protocol, so Chicago's offense is really hurting right now. The 23-year-old Bagent saw his first NFL action against Minnesota in relief of Fields last Sunday and went 10-for-14 for 83 yards, an interception and a lost fumble that was returned for a touchdown. The undrafted rookie will be nothing more than a desperation play in Week 7 in superflex leagues, and his presence under center is going to hurt the fantasy upside of all of the Bears' pass-catchers, most notably D.J. Moore.
