Bears Not Ruling Out Benching Chase Claypool
one year ago

Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus isn't ruling out the possibility of wide receiver Chase Claypool being a healthy scratch for the Week 2 contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. "We're looking at all possibilities right now," Eberflus said. Claypool was a disappointment for the Bears after Chicago acquired him from the Pittsburgh Steelers in the middle of 2022, and he got off to a bad start in the Week 1 win over the Green Bay Packers, failing to haul in either of his two targets. The 25-year-old continues to struggle to pick up the offense and is off the fantasy radar in 12-team leagues as the No. 3 behind DJ Moore and Darnell Mooney. If Claypool loses playing time, Equanimeous St. Brown could pass him on the depth chart as the No. 3 wideout.
