Bears Have No. 1 Pick In 2024 NFL Draft

The Chicago Bears locked up the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft last week -- the Bears own the Carolina Panthers' first-round selection this year. The Washington Commanders hold the No. 2 selection after finishing the regular season with an eight-game losing streak. The Bears have several directions they could go. General manager Ryan Poles could trade back from No. 1 again to build around quarterback Justin Fields, who showed progress down the stretch in 2023. But if Chicago isn't sold on Fields as their franchise QB, Poles could add USC QB Caleb Williams at No. 1 overall and then look to trade Fields this offseason. Washington should have a shot at either Williams or North Carolina QB Drake Maye at No. 2 overall. At No. 3, the New England Patriots, now without head coach Bill Belichick for the first time in 24 years, could also look to draft their next franchise QB.
