Bears Defensive Coordinator Resigns
one year ago

Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Alan Williams resigned from his position on Wednesday, according to a source. Head coach Matt Eberflus is expected to continue calling defensive plays for the time being. Williams said in a statement that he is "taking a step back to take care of (his) health and (his) family." The 53-year-old was in his second season with the Bears, who are off to an 0-2 start in 2023. He did not travel with the team to Tampa last Friday ahead of the Week 2 game against the Buccaneers. The NFL is not involved in the situation. It's been categorized as a personal situation that is being handled internally by the Bears.
