Baker Mayfield Has Left-Hand Contusion
one year ago

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said that quarterback Baker Mayfield (hand) injured his left hand (not his shoulder) late in the Week 6 loss to the Detroit Lions, and X-rays came back negative. Mayfield is just dealing with a left-hand contusion and should be able to play this coming Sunday in Week 7 against the Atlanta Falcons. The 28-year-old former first-rounder was injured on the final drive on Sunday. Mayfield had the worst game of the season to this point in the 20-6 loss to Detroit, going 19-for-37 for just 206 yards, no touchdowns for the first time all year, and one interception. He'll have a nice opportunity to bounce back in Week 7 against Atlanta, but he should still be considered nothing more than a midrange QB2 for fantasy lineups.
