Baker Mayfield, Buccaneers Have Mutual Interest For 2024

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and quarterback Baker Mayfield have mutual interest in negotiating his return for the 2024 season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Mayfield has exceeded expectations and put the Buccaneers in position to secure a playoff spot, all while earning roughly $6 million. Along the way, he has completed 63.5 percent of passes for 3,315 yards, 24 touchdowns, and three interceptions. He also won NFC Offensive Player of the Week following a 381-yard, four-touchdown showing last weekend against the Green Bay Packers. Rapoport notes that Mayfield has been a great contributor to the Buccaneers on and off the field and the two sides hope to finalize a new deal. If not, though, the franchise tag also remains an option.
