Alexander Mattison Still In Concussion Protocol Monday
12 months ago

Minnesota Vikings running back Alexander Mattison (concussion) remains in the league's concussion protocol on Monday, per The Athletic's Alec Lewis. A concussion forced Mattison from the third quarter of Sunday's eventual 27-19 home win over the New Orleans Saints, leaving explosive change-of-pace back Ty Chandler with a featured role in his stead. It's been a tough year for the 25-year-old Mattison, who is plodding for 3.5 yards per carry and zero rushing touchdowns over 130 attempts in his first year as the Vikings' de facto workhorse following Dalvin Cook's departure. Chandler ran 15 times for 45 yards and a score against the Saints, representing an obvious waiver-wire add as Minnesota's probable lead back next Sunday night against a league-worst Denver Broncos run defense if Mattison cannot pass protocol by then. It remains to be seen if Mattison is able to log some activity during Wednesday's upcoming practice.
