Alexander Mattison Bottled Up In Defeat
one year ago

Minnesota Vikings running back Alexander Mattison handled eight carries for 28 yards with three catches on six targets for 11 yards in Thursday's 34-28 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The 25-year-old repeatedly ran into brick walls with center Garrett Bradbury (back) out on Thursday, losing a first-quarter fumble as part of a four-turnover night for Minnesota. Mattison lost another fumble in the fourth quarter, but was bailed out by an offsides penalty. The former third-round pick's lack of explosiveness has been well-documented within the fantasy community, but he was dealt a tough hand in this one from the get-go particularly with the Vikings trailing throughout the second half. Mattison's bell-cow role (44 snaps Thursday) remains rare in today's NFL, so should be in play as an RB2 in what could be a high-scoring Week 3 versus the Los Angeles Chargers, but he's hardly impressed to this point.
