Alex Van Pelt To Interview With Buccaneers

Former Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt will interview with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday for their vacant offensive-coordinator job, according to a source. Van Pelt is also still in play for the same position with the Las Vegas Raiders. The Buccaneers' offensive-coordinator position opened up this offseason when Dave Canales left the organization to become the Carolina Panthers' head coach. Van Pelt spent the last four years as Cleveland's offensive coordinator, but it was head coach Kevin Stefanski calling the plays. Van Pelt helped the Browns get back to the playoffs this year despite the team starting four different quarterbacks. His time in Cleveland overlapped with current Bucs QB Baker Mayfield's final seasons with the Browns, so it makes sense for Tampa to consider reuniting the two.
