Aidan O'Connell Is Raiders Starting Quarterback Moving Forward
one year ago

After Las Vegas Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels and offensive coordinator Mick Lombardi were fired late Tuesday night, interim head coach Antonio Pierce has stepped in and made some offensive changes. Pierce has named rookie quarterback Aidan O'Connell as the Raiders starter moving forward, beginning in Week 9 against the New York Giants. O'Connell made his first start in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers, throwing for 238 yards and one interception. The move will push veteran Jimmy Garoppolo to the bench and give the keys to the fourth-round rookie. He's worth an add in Superflex formats, considering he appears to be the starter for the foreseeable future.
